The past few weeks we have studies the 3 Branches of Government (Legislative, Executive & Judicial).
On eCampus you will find modules for each Branch and our newest module on the Checks & Balances/ Separation of Powers. This week we will cover Checks & Balances and explore the origins of government through the Enlightenment Period + Founding Documents! Some important items: * Study Guides are expected to be complete in full by 12/7 * Having trouble with Vocabulary? Use the quizlet card links on the Intro pages of each module to help you! We are fortunate to be embarking on an originally Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) lesson created by your fabulous teachers here at JHMS over the past Summer. Have a wonderful weekend! Beginning last the Block Days (9/30 and 10/1) we will be working on a Document Based Question Analysis that will lead to an in class Essay. All items can be found in the DBQ Module on your eCampus course!
Student homework will be very limited at this time in order to give them proper time to study and work on their guides for their Quarter 1 Exam on 10/14 or 10/15 dependent on their Block Day.
Task II. Tracking Using your Scales for Unit 3, you will rate yourself and reflect on the activities we have carried out to enhance your understanding of Political Parties and Candidate Evaluation. Be sure you rate yourself and reflect on how the activity supported your learning for every activity! If you have missed rating passed ones be sure to fill them. As I went through some Tracking Sheets I noticed missing learning goals and actions you will take. It's important to have a goal and a plan in place when reaching for success! Take out tracking sheets and add Rate/ Reflect on the following: • Assignment D: Party + Platform Project • Assignment E: Unit 3 Quiz • If you are missing earlier assignments they are: o Assignment A: Beginning Score o Assignment B: One Big Party o Assignment C: Interactive Political Party PowerPoint Task III. Candidate Evaluation Vocab and Skill Practice Substitute has the hand out needs to put in a transparency sheet and complete with an expo marker. Assure you wipe the sheets down for the next class and return all expo markers. ****Before you leave class, be sure the room is left as you found it and all supplies are put away. No chairs should be out of place as you are expected to stay in your assigned seats.***
